Promoted the elimination of time limits on how long citizens could speak when they wish to address the Board of County Commissioners. In addition, I whole heartedly supported new processes that improved notification to citizens about issues in their community, posting of meetings, easy/timely electronic access to information and the development of new ethics programs. Listen, simply stated, the business of government must be conducted in a manner that is open, honest, transparent, accessible and accountable.
• Worked to ensure Douglas County received its fair share of Mass Transit services for the tax dollars given to RTD.
• Fought for Local, State and Federal funding to build:
• C470/Santa Fe flyover, Improvements to Lincoln, Titan Road, Rampart Road, Waterton Canyon, Chambers, Quebec, County Line Road, Broadway, Daniels Park and many more…
• Supported streamlining of land use processes that are friendlier to residents and encourages more investment by businesses in Douglas County.
• Supported cost cutting efforts that have reduced the size of Douglas County government.
• Promoted LID legislation that makes it easier for citizens to pay for the infrastructure associated with utilities.
• Pushed for Water Conservation measures that would ensure that all water providers have a State approved conservation plan. |
